Ten years ago, After graduating from Salford University with a degree in audio technology and acoustics, Steve quickly became full time dubbing mixer. Steve also likes looking after computers and is a self confessed geek and macolyte! Talk to him about all things Apple at your peril - although he can advise on a good mac based solution to suite your individual tastes!

A Bit About Us.
Cranc started in 2005 and three years later are still going strong! With over 40 years experience between us we know what we're doing, having worked on everything from the low budget local radio ad to high profile network drama. Our aim is to create studios where the emphasis is on creativity and quality of work in a happy atmosphere. We maintain our high standards on all our output from local broadcasting to worldwide high definition requirements. Our current projects includes work for BBC Wales, S4/C, BBC Network, Channel 5, Discovery and even the first ever co-production with Al Jazeera. We have recently taken on hot new talent and have expanded our Studio facilities to meet the demand of our ever growing client list.

Technical Information.
Do you know someone with a really great voice but they don't look all that pretty? Or maybe they've moved away to the big smoke and left you high and dry, or they've gone on away right in the middle of your biggest campaign of the year... Don't despair, get them to an ISDN equipped studio and we'll do the rest. We can connect to facilities all over the world to record your favourite artist - just like they're in the booth next door!

Ok. panic over. You've mixed those all important radio commercials. Oh no! its friday pm and they have to be on air monday morning - no time to send out CD's! The solution is to send them to the hundreds of national radio stations via ISDN. phew.

Finally - attention facilities - Got a presenter gone AWOL in South Wales? Latest pop tarts popped over the severn bridge just when you need em? Need a welsh version of your production? Well get them to us and we can connect to anywhere with a codec faster than you can say "Green, Green Grass of Home"
These days either OMF or AAF are the most convenient way to transfer audio from the edit to the dubbing facility. With practise this method is a fast and reliable way of moving the edited audio down the post production chain. We prefer our OMFs and AAFs to be at 48khz and to be OMF version 2 with embedded, although in practise we can handle any sample rate and version type. They can be delivered on CD / DVD / USB flash drives / firewire or USB2 HDD's / iPod e.t.c

For more information on preparing projects for omf, please see Avid's website.
With access to our Digidelivery server you can send us files such as OMF, Edl's, Quicktime Video, or whatever else you wish (as long as it relates to your dub...!). File size is not restricted in the same way as email, so large files can be sent easily and securely.

Please email us here to get an account on our server and we can then send you instructions on how to use the server. If you already have an account you can log in here... log-in
